I keep reading on this page certain experiences/statements that simply do not coincide with our experience with siteground.

We have been tired of hearing "everything looks good on our end" from GoDaddy. Their server uptime typically was 95-98% for the last 6 months (!!!) With downtimes as serious as 14 Hours in a day!

We transferred our site to siteground. 100% uptime.

We purchased a reseller hosting to realize that it was overkill for us. Requested refund back - promptly billing support analyzed the situation, issued refund back $195 (including the set-up fee). Per their policy - refunds issued within 30 days of the order. Simple. No problem.

No, we did not find any phone support compared to GoDaddy. But after spending our precious time with uneducated reps (too many of them lately at godady), we realized it was pointless to have a phone support without strong system backing. All they kept repeating was "everything looks good - green check marks - on our end." What is the point of the phone support than?

In regards of an earlier post that stated:"their customer support is lousy, their line gets disconnected." They do NOT have phone support. If this is in regards of a Premium support - than it's NOT true. We used this feature briefly and no lines get disconnected.

What we did find useful was a free well-structured, efficient ticketing system. Once you place a ticket - you know how to use it and reach right departments.

Transferring sites to siteground was easy. The only thing that we "missed" was "less than 1 gig file size." If you utilize Akeeba - it will be a major plus. Delete all back-up files and leave ONE for them to transfer your site over to them. All we did was to provide the access to "admin" area and they took it from there on. In less than a day - the site was running like a champ on their servers properly linked with newly created database.

Domain transfer support is impeccable. Godaddy tried to send us e-mails with deceptive message asking us to take "no action." Upon request to clarify this message with siteground, the siteground support sent us a full status update on domain transfer!

What else would anyone need? If YOU are willing to MANAGE your services - this is a good host. If you need SOMEONE to MANAGE your services - that costs $. Expected.

So, if you do not have any idea how to work with your site and ftp - LEARN! Do not blame others for your lack of knowledge.

This company is definitely NOT a rip off.

Competition is becoming stiff, but there is no need to bash your competition... Simply do better and come back to leave reviews based on FACTUAL circumstances, not some "they took my money" or "these guys are rip-off."

Just a few words of advice to those negative posters.
