😠 I initially moved some smaller sites I hosted over to the VPS to try them out before moving my main business site and tried them out for close to a year. The tech support was great and I was happy.
THEN when I was confident enough to migrate my business site... the support completely disappeared. Their form for site migration didn't work. I'd fill it out, get a message that it was retrieved and then no ticket would be generated. I tried this twice and sent a dozen e-mails to the Account Specialist who would just ask me for the 'ticket number' which I didn't have because their form wouldn't generate one. I literally spent close to one month just trying to get them to acknowledge that I wanted to move my website over to the VPS and literally got nothing. Eventually both Support and the Account Specialist just stopped responding to my e-mails like both myself and my issue didn't exist.
Then when I submitted my request to cancel my account, i included a note saying I expected not to be charged for the month that had just passed as they had spent that long not-moving my site. I got nothing back from them about that other than being directed to another cancellation form and a generic "we're sorry to lose your business" one line e-mail....
I did some research and contacted InMotion Hosting and was impressed. I purchased one of their VPS plans and they seamlessly migrated everything from Green Geeks and my business site to their VPS in one day with no issues and amazing support. It's like night and day between InMotion and Green Geeks and I'm happy I moved.
One month of trying to get a provider to migrate my site as they say they will do is inexcusable and the lack of responses from their support team and Account Specialist was infuriating.
They started off a great host for tinkering and when it came time for the rubber to hit the road they were a complete no-show. Very glad my business site never made it to them.
