I'm a former Webstrike customer. Let me start with something positive. Will Kruss at Webstrike Solutions rocked the house! You will be severely missed, and I hope some day when you guys come back out of the buyout retirement you start another hosting company.

I had a half dozen personal and client websites that were hosted at Webstrike. And I do contract work for a small business that has 29 client websites hosted with Webstrike.

The EasyCGI takeover has been absolutely terrible. Here are just a few issues:
1. No backup strategy. They wiped out a client database after cutting it over to a new server. They had no backups, and since I last worked on it in 2003 I had no backup of the structure either. Had to recode that from scratch.
2. It's so bad right now, I've got multiple sites down due to their inept migrations. One client has been down for weeks due to configuration problems.
3. Tech support is terrible. This has exacerbated the problem. I've tried phone calls and the chat service. First line support is POLITE but TECHNICALLY CLUELESS.
4. Turnaround time for a real technician is 24-48 hours. And then you're lucky if they get it right. At this point I've spent hours troubleshooting setup issues with them.

Here are some of the technical challenges they've been unable to address in a timely manner.
* Inability to create a SQL database user account.
* Once account is created, can't create database objects, like tables and stored procedures.
* Can't send email via Classic ASP. First line support doesn't even know how to configure it.
* Excessive down time of production websites.

I could go on and on. My time is too valuable to spend it troubleshooting basic setup issues like creating a database user account.

Avoid Easy CGI if you want to host Windows, Classic ASP, or ASP.Net websites. If I were a CGI developer maybe they would be okay, but I'm not.

I'm moving ALL of my websites to Planet Small Business. I trial ballooned one new site with them and got outstanding technical support via email within a few hours of opening a ticket. My associate who has nearly 30 sites hosted with them will probably follow suit. And then there are all the other developers that I directed to Webstrike Solutions.

If you're a developer and you charge clients $50 to $75 an hour for freelance services, avoid Easy CGI unless you plan to bill your client for endless hours of support with know-nothing order takers. When you contact technical support that's what you get. A glorified order taker that can perhaps point you to a KB article or two.
