Do not ssh , do not ftp or login there.
They will usually disable your account within 24 hours of registration and ask you to ssh... They will steal your email/pass and you anything upload.

😠 STAY AWAY! The service was not great from the start but it was tolerable for the price. However, as time went on, things became worse and once the refund period was up, I was forced to change hosts because my site was crashing at least twice a week. Requests to fix the problem were patched but the underlying problem was never resolved. Very often the staff replying to tickets would answer something completely unrelated to my issue or would conveniently ignore the ticket altogether or just close it without fixing anything.After switching hosts, a problem was found within my website that was related to hosting with 10x. It was fixed and I have not had a problem since. Multiple attempts to talk to 10x about a refund have been ignored. 100% worst experience with a host I've ever had

😠 I'm not a newbie. I'm a programmer. I had set up several websites on different hosting services. Never had I encountered so much problem and headaches than what I got with this service provider. I've wasted so much time trying to set up essential elements of the site since the system is down for so long and often. If you value your time and sanity, find a different service provider. Service is not as good as they made it appear on their websites' front page.

😞 I wouldn't say x10 is perfect, but in spite of all the bad reviews, I only had very quick (within an hour) replies for my questions, and all problems I had were solved within a few hours. I was a bit skeptical at first but I'm actually pretty satisfied.

😠 I have had a 4images software set up with x10 hosting I even paid for PRIME hosting and from day one never had any support or help when having problems with anyone sending a ecard via the x10 hosting system. The 4images say it's sent but it never get past x10 hosting. The problem lay with those who run x10 hosting no doubt it's another USA scam.

😠 I can't log into my account due to "apparently" a VPN or TOR configuration. I have no such things setup to connect to x10.
I've tried to contact support and post in the forum but no positive outcome.

I have even given them a link to a possible reason why a VPN or TOP configuration was detected (GNAT from ISP) and not 1 single response from x10.

😠 I used to speak highly of x10 hosting but I can no longer do so in good conscience. I used them for years but recent events have forced my hand. Over the 4 years that I've had a site hosted (a site with about 5 static, informational pages) with them I've experienced far more problems than good things. There have been times when I've loaded up my website and a completely different website has been displayed. The time that it takes to log in, navigate, or change anything has increased dramatically. As many others have mentioned, when they changed their vpn detection I was suddenly not able to access my account from the same device and network I had been using the whole time. That issue was fortunately resolved, however suddenly my account has been "associated with an account that is breaking the rules" and my access has been revoked. 😠 If you don't mind having your site deleted because of their incompetence [...]
after having my site hosted there for over a year they implemented a poorly coded VPN and proxy detection script that erroneously detected my modem dedicated IP address as a VPN or Proxy resulting in an inability to login and keep my account from being suspended (you must login to their website every 30 days or it gets suspended until you do).

So I file a support ticket in which I explain that their script is flawed and a simple check on any number of sites proves I am not behind a VPN or proxy they then completely delete my site before resolving my support ticket (I had no backup due to recent hard drive failure here) when i ask why they would do that they gave a rambling cut and paste response talking about accounts getting deleted for illegal activity.

I asked them if they would act like professionals own their mistake and restore my site from a server backup that any hosting company worth its salt would have while attaching screenshots from about 5 sites all declaring my [read more...]

I've tried x10hosting.com for a little more than 6 months now.
I've been very pleased by the quality of their service, which beats all competitors in several fields (such as bandwidth and disk space).

Sure, free hosting accounts only get very "spartan" support by other users in the blog, but the F.A.Q.'s are well documented, and clearly explained to me some unexpected behavior (e. g., they have a cacheing program active by default, but it can be easily disabled).

They make me feel that every piece of software on their servers is very accurately chosen, maintained and updated. I installed a Wordpress site with their 1-click installer, and got the very latest version of it and of PHP, while other hosting companies usually have older versions -- and my new WP site was online in record time without a glitch.

Their servers are the fastest and stablest I've "played with" up to now. Before opening an account with x10hosting I've tried over half a dozen other free hosting services [read more...]

😁 This hosting is the best FREE one. They have less downtime than other free hosting like 000webhost.com or webng.com or atspace.com X10 has unlimited data and bandwidth unlike the others.

While their support sucks, most of them are volunteers so I can't blame them.

😁 I've been using them since high school...now I'm almost done with college. GREAT plans, cheap, GREAT support, support answer tickets within hours so its very convenient.

The forums have a great community and are very helpful. I'm john klyne, if you need help.

What else can I say...I've been with them for years and have yet to see my site down for any reason, I am a paid user and they are literally the only company that gives you UNLIMITED EVERYTHING...I mean HOLY....there is no way ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE OFFERS UNLIMITED EVERYTHHING.....x10hosting....they do.

😠 TERRIBLE HOST BEWARE!
In a nutshell I paid over $1000 total for my site. Part of that was for my software to be installed professionally, hosting, dedicated IP etec

I went to login to my site and my PREMIUM paid account was suspended for "spam" when I asked what the deal was they agev me the IP number to their outgoing email box and some lame email someone sent that had my sites name attached to the end of his email address.

No proof has been shown to me that proves I did anything wrong,but they tore my site down and are telling me that I have to build it all over again at the tune of $1000 to make sure that my "exploited software" doesn't send spam again. Yet they have never shown me ANY proof that my site or I sent spam out.

They are the most rude, unprofessional host out there,. I used their free service for a year before I paid for this site. I thought that it only seemd fair to use them since the free hosting wasnt all bad.

Look for another host because this one will only screw you over. My account was closed for supposedly breaking the Terms of Service, which I didn't. What happened was that my account was generating more traffic then usual, and even though each account has it's own limits for bandwidth and space, and I had previously payed to have those limits increased. They decided to just suspended it with no warning. After filing a support ticket it ended with "Ryan Schmidt - Level 2 Support" claiming that they have no records of me paying, after proving with a copy of the receipt that I had payed the ticket was closed with no further reply.

So a few months ago i stumbled upon x10hosting... their unlimited space and bandwith seemed very inviting, so i decided to try them out...all i can say is that its amazing, almost no down time, fast site, love them. I even bought prime for a year, and more recently bought premium, even better :P i work at game development company, and we have lots of images...wirks like a charm. also, im now using windows azure as a cdn for images and files, x10's tos states you cant use it for file hosting...so game demo's and such are better on a cdn. thats just a fyi...if your account got suspended after 30 days, you didnt login to the forum ever...happened yo me once...just buy prime for a year, $5 dont have to worry about that. and no, im not a employee of x10hosting, though your negitive posts disgust me...so thats why i took the time to explain the facts of the matter. :)

So very often is my site down, or I can't logon, or some drama is wrecking things for so many. It is a complete nightmare that I ever trusted these people, but I am stuck with them (the site is mutually linked-in with hundreds of other similar sites and published in documents everywhere). For the last 8 days my site has been garbled or down. No reply, no explanation. They did not even answer some of my past requests for help. Sometimes they just close the enquiry thread. Everything they do to wreck a site or respond to harm they have done to it with their outages and freaky mishaps is CALCULATED TO MAKE YOU GIVE THEM MONEY for a better service. My experience is rediculously bad up-time, Aall the free servers they have people are always complaining about down-time. There is one server called starka which they openly admit is mostly down, for some reason, 99% of the people i spoke to were on starka.....

Bad host, find a decent one and OMG dont pay its pathetic for the price!!! Much better paid hosts.

I got suspended immediately after trying to install cometchat on a null ipb forum. What?

I don't visit their forum everyday, so I dono anything about whats the new rules they put.

I do agree that i have installed null IPB and i do not understand the meaning of null.

😠 I got suspended immediately after trying to install vbulletin forums. The tos agrees with the use of VB and the support staff said it was ok, yet they suspend you everytime you try to install it...

Admin was in my forum thread several times and still did not respond ONE TIME... They just read it and left.

I'm disappointed in how pathetic this companies attempts at keeping customers was. Especially since I was testing to buy full/paid hosting..

The admins name that kept viewing my thread and ignored it was "Anna"

😠 X10 is cheap. But even if a service were free one that does not work is worthless. My page has spent more time down then up. I got the 'inactive for 30 days' suspension two weeks after creating it and then again a few weeks later. Added to that error pages blaming the browsers cache and ridiculous instructions to correct the situation requiring the OSX terminal for a simple cache reset. On multiple machines and browsers a browser is still blamed, in four months this is I think the fourth or fifth loss of service and no notice is provided until you check that it is down so there is no telling how much of this time the site has actually been functional. Site soon to be deleted. I temporarily used this service about two years ago and it was excellent. No longer the case.

😠 A friend of mine brought this page to my attention today, directing me to the review below regarding me, and how I was the only helpful support member. It appears to be that the x10Hosting staff and support team believe I am the one that posted that review. Although I think that the review in question is funny, and although I understand why x10Hosting believes I am the one that posted it, I'd like to clarify that I had nothing to do with that review. The review you are reading now is the only review posted by me on this page.

As for x10Hosting itself, I have no idea how it's changed in the past half year since I've left, but when I was a member of the support team, I know that a majority of the staff was trying as hard as possible to help the users. I'm not sure if that's different now; I heard that the entire x10Hosting staff hierarchy was changed, so I dunno who is responsible for what anymore.

😠 Like another unhappy reviewer I have a .net website hosted by these guys, or not hosted by these guys as the case really is. My website has only be available for one day in the last thirty two days, I’m using free hosting from a ‘try before you buy’ perspective and I couldn’t be more disappointed, I certainly won’t be buying. The server fails to deliver .net pages, it keeps claiming the pages can’t be found, complete nonsense of course, it seemed to manage to find them on one day in the last thirty two. HTML pages however will be found without problems.

Due to them updating their servers, which they made a massive balls up of due to extraordinarily bad planning, they won’t let you post support messages, if you do they threaten to delete your account. So if you have a problem that can only be resolved by them then tough. 🗨 I am sorry that your account has experienced that much downtime. But due to the growth of the service, we get consistently more users, this put a strain on software such as cPanel and on the hardware, and we are hard at work trying to find solution to these bottlenecks. Also, moving over 60k+ accounts from a slow server to a more performing server is almost certain to bring up some unexpected problem, even if we planned for the unexpected.

😞 I'm using free hosting and according to x10 administrators thus have no right to speak out when the service fails. They claim paid hosting is better but what kind of marketing tool is bad service and abusive administrators? I'm scared to try their premium although I really need paid service now.

While free hosting often works, every time they fiddle with the server I'm down for days up to weeks with no recourse. If you're not a pro IT dude they treat you like a moron, and then there's the bullying and threats. I can't think of a company with worse customer service and tech support. Worse than the government!

Count me as sadly disappointed. If I knew how to move my website elsewhere I so would.

😁 I've been with alot of hosting folks in the past and I'd have to say X10's the best out of all of em. It didn't seem like it was worth it at first but once I got to know how everything's set up(ex webmaster/internet tech/etc..) stuff made sense. With the exception of server downtime for updates, chopin's been up 99.99999% of the time and you can't beat the price. Not even godaddy or hypermart can beat these prices. These folks have my business as I'm not going anywhere.

😠 x10hosting gives me mixed feelings, I have two websites with them. The first is a site made up of .html pages only, although the sign up process was difficult to navigate and my confirmation email didn't turn up, for which I needed support, once I got through that I haven't had any problems. The only other real issue was a lack of information to set up my ftp software, such as the host etc. Lots of messing around here but once I finally got the details all has been well and on this website I have no complaints really.

I decided to go for a second website but this time an ASP.NET website and I have had nothing but problems with them since. They don’t use Windows servers instead they use Linux running Apache with Mono to run the .net pages, unfortunately it doesn’t work. It doesn’t matter how simple you keep your ASP.NET pages or your web.config file I just keep getting illogical 404 errors even though the pages are there, if I upload a .html file it will load fine but asp.net files [read more...]

🗨 Using Microsoft Windows to host websites would required paying more licensing fees, thus implying a high probability that the service would not remain free. When there were less users on our systems, using our Mono-powered setup was great to support asp.net websites under Linux. But due to our expansion, and the bigger strain that resulted on the servers, our previous setup did not work as expected. We tried a few other implementations, but none were suitable for the high loads we handled. This is why we moved ASP.net support to the illuminated hosting plan, which uses servers under less loads, and can therefore handle our Mono-powered setup.

😠 This web host is nothing, but trash. The staff are beyond rude and always refer you to the door. Server downtime is as common as dirt found outside. Its just horrible. I kept an account with x10 for 2 years and they just continue to disappoint me. I can't even gain any members due to the fact that its down all the time. It may be free, but they lie way too much and not even worth it...

😁 x10hosting is a very good host. While they often get a bad name for their free hosting service due to suspensions for violations of the TOS or mildly questionable free hosting support, they are a very good company.
Before you shoot them on their support, you need to realize that the support forum revives several hundred support requests a day. This would be impossible for 5-6 people to handle, and keep everything else running.
I used their free service for over 2 years, before i moved onto a VPS plan. Their Paid customer service is very good. The longest I have had to wait for a response has been 12 hours, the fastest has been like, 10 seconds(through IRC)
Their paid services are very stable. My vps had an uptime of about 135 days, after which they moved to a new Datacenter, which required the VPS to shut down for 10 minutes.

now theres this stupid guy zubair that cant even speak english trying to help and he sucks and corey that shuts down the support system because too many people use it

i only stayed w/x10hosting because adamparkzer was very kind to me and now x10hosting sucks because nobody can help anymore

😁 I've been with x10hosting for a few years now, and I have to say that they are truly the best.

I'm on the free hosting, and it has cPanel, 99.9% uptime and excellent support - most support requests get dealt with in under five minutes.

And whats all this about support staff being rude? I hang around in the chat room most of the time - they are very nice people and I like talking to them.

😁 I don't know why everyone has so much to say about how "terrible" x10Hosting is. They have an amazing set of features for all the different accounts. I do not payfor mine, as I am only required to log in to the forums at least once every two weeks. Even though I don't pay for it, it is still a No-Ads account, unlike like Freeservers.com. x10Hosting even allows for use of CGI/Perl and PHP/MySQL programming features. It is decked out with as much as would be expected out of a free hosting service, and much, much more. They also are almost never down, meaning their uptime record is almost perfect. I have never had a problem with customer support, as they use "Support Tickets" which are responded to in a reasonable amount of time. All in all, I have not had a bad experience yet, and I do not believe that I will ever be disappointed in the future.

the 1 word reason as "phishing"

when i tryed to solution search for eather "phishing" or "5A913B4AAF43"

😠 Although this host may seem good on the surface, do not be fooled. The staff are rude and unhelpful in email correspondance. They suspend your site if you do not sign in to it within every 2 weeks, and delete it 10 days after this without any kind of notice or email to say this is the situation. When this happened to me and I tried to get the html or the site back, I was told it was my own fault & the member of staff who dealt with me was incredibly rude and not bothered at all that I had spent hours and hours building the site. DO NOT USE! Try another free host, as I will be doing.

😠 Staff is rude and incompetent. During server maintenance your site will get suspended and they will tell you it's your fault for using all their system resources, when in fact you couldn't even get on your site for the past week because of their "maintenance". Half the time CPanel is blank (and many complain about this) and the sites are always slow. Terrible service!
